Taking Care Of You

New Vista Optometry recognizes how busy your life is, and we also know the value of your time. While you are focused on looking after everyone else, you may not be looking after yourself.

Take 30 seconds and think about the following questions:

  • Are you having trouble seeing the time on your microwave?
  • Is reading the menu at a restaurant becoming annoying?
  • Are you finding it difficult to drive after dark?

Now, ask yourself how long this has been happening, and whether it is time to book yourself an eye examination.

At New Vista Optometry, we take care of you. Our highly experienced optometrist knows what questions to ask and what tests to conduct using our onsite state-of-the-art diagnostics. Dr. Marisa Rossini will analyze your test results, prescribe treatment, provide any necessary surgical or ocular disease co-management, or dispense the eyeglasses or contact lenses that will get you back to your day.

To book your eyecare appointment, call 519-858-3937 or arrange for the appointment by email.

Caring For Your Children

New Vista Optometry recognizes how important it is for your child to be able to see clearly. A baby’s first eye exam should be conducted at 6 months of age. As they grow, the use of computers, smartphones, iPads, tablets, and handheld video gaming consoles increases the demand on their eyes. As a result, myopia (near-sightedness) is becoming more prevalent among children.

  • Is your child having trouble reading?
  • Does your child have trouble paying attention at school?
  • Has your child’s teacher noticed your child having difficulties reading the board?

80% of learning is visual. Having your child’s eyesight tested is the first step. New Vista Optometry offers a safe, comfortable and fun space for children, and OHIP covers the cost of one comprehensive eye exam every 12 months, for children ages 19 and under.

Often, correcting the issue is as simple as a new prescription for eyeglasses. New Vista Optometry can also help prevent myopia through the use of targeted therapies.

We provide comprehensive eye exams with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and instrumentation. Our optometrist has 30 years of clinical experience and enjoys serving young families. We will help you through the whole eye care process, including testing, assessment, and dispensing of eyeglasses or other therapies, all in one location.

Looking After Your Parents

Being part of the “sandwich generation” has its challenges. Looking after the person who used to look after you is not an easy transition for either of you. At New Vista Optometry, we understand the challenge for both of you, but we know that seniors sometimes need help in recognizing subtle changes in their eyesight.

  • Does your parent have trouble seeing clearly, or with peripheral vision?
  • Is your parent having difficulty performing favourite hobbies or daily activities?
  • Should your parent still be driving?

If you notice your parent developing eye issues that are being ignored, it might be helpful for you to book the appointment. OHIP covers the cost of one comprehensive eye exam every 12 months, for seniors 65 and older.

Many seniors are challenged with cataracts or glaucoma, but with the right diagnostics and surgical or ocular disease care co-management, there is much we can do to help. Let us take care of the testing, assessment and diagnosis. We are here to help in communicating the issues, and most effective treatment, to your parent.

Caring For Your Partner

  • Does your partner complain about dry, tired, or sore eyes?
  • Is your partner having trouble seeing the tv or computer screen?
  • Has your partner’s peripheral vision begun to fade?

If your partner has talked about getting an eye exam but hasn’t gotten around to it, you are welcome to book the appointment on their behalf.

With increasing use of computers at work and at home, computer vision syndrome, also known as digital eye strain, has become a more common phenomenon. At New Vista Optometry, we have state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and instrumentation onsite. Our highly experienced optometrist provides assessments and treatment, and any necessary laser vision surgical or ocular disease care surgery co-management. And our office dispenses eyeglasses and contact lenses to help your partner see clearly.

You can book the appointment and let us take it from there. call 519-858-3937 or arrange for the appointment by email.
