Our highly experienced optometrist, Dr. Marisa Rossini, (Hons) B.Sc., O.D., has decades of clinical experience caring for patients of all ages and their full range of ocular needs. Comprehensive Eye Exams
We look at every aspect of the way your eyes work and move together – by examining ocular health, refraction, binocular vision and prescription for glasses and contacts – all of which contributes to good vision throughout your lifetime.
Myopia Control
We can help combat the amount of time children spend on electronic (screen) devices – with new technology and specialized spectacles and contact lenses for children up to age 18 – proven effective in reducing the progression of myopia by an average of 60%.
Laser vision surgery Co-Management
Our eye health care co-management starts by determining precist ocular measurements prior to surgery, and we monitor your eye as it heals – with pre- and post-surgical visits – beginning before the surgery and continuing for one year afterward.
Ocular disease care surgical co-management
As partners in your circle of eye care, we use the latest technology – visual field testing, optical coherence tomography, and retinal imaging – to prevent and manage eye disease, and keep your eyes healthy.
Eyeglasses and Contact Lenses for Adults and Children
Our main purpose is to help you see clearly and look beautiful in the eyewear of your choice – even for patients as young as 6 months of age – when early warning signs in children and adults lead to the best of corrective measures.

Since 1989, Dr. Marisa Rossini has provided outstanding eye care examinations and treatment for patients of all ages. She specializes in ocular disease management and surgical co-management, and has a special interest in paediatrics.
Dr. Marisa Rossini is passionate about helping her patients lead their healthiest lives. She stays current on new treatments and diagnostics, and complements her practice with a holistic approach to patient care by looking at overall health conditions and lifestyle.
Exemplary patient care is important to her. Dr. Rossini spent seven years as a part-time clinical instructor at the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry, to instill the practice of exemplary patient care in the next generation of optometrists.

Caring For Your Children
New Vista Optometry recognizes how important it is for your child to be able to see clearly. A baby’s first eye exam should be conducted at 6 months of age. As they grow, the use of computers, smartphones, iPads, tablets, and handheld video gaming consoles increases the demand on their eyes. As a result, myopia (near-sightedness) is becoming more prevalent among children.

- Has your child’s teacher noticed your child having difficulties reading the board?
80% of learning is visual. Having your child’s eyesight tested is the first step. New Vista Optometry offers a safe, comfortable and fun space for children, and OHIP covers the cost of one comprehensive eye exam every 12 months, for children ages 19 and under.
Often, correcting the issue is as simple as a new prescription for eyeglasses. New Vista Optometry can also help prevent myopia through the use of targeted therapies.
We provide comprehensive eye exams with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and instrumentation. Our optometrist has decades of clinical experience and enjoys serving young families. Looking After Your Parents
Being part of the “sandwich generation” has its challenges. Looking after the person who used to look after you is not an easy transition for either of you. At New Vista Optometry, we understand the challenge for both of you, but we know that seniors sometimes need help in recognizing subtle changes in their eyesight.
- Does your parent have trouble seeing clearly, or with peripheral vision?
- Is your parent having difficulty performing favourite hobbies or daily activities?
- Should your parent still be driving?
If you notice your parent developing eye issues that are being ignored, it might be helpful for you to book the appointment. OHIP covers the cost of one comprehensive eye exam every 12 months, for seniors 65 and older.
Many seniors are challenged with cataracts or glaucoma, but with the right diagnostics and surgical or ocular disease care co-management, there is much we can do to help. Let us take care of the testing, assessment and diagnosis. We are here to help in communicating the issues, and most effective treatment, to your parent.

Caring For Your Partner

With increasing use of computers at work and at home, computer vision syndrome, also known as digital eye strain, has become a more common phenomenon. At New Vista Optometry, we have state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and instrumentation onsite. Our highly experienced optometrist provides assessments and treatment, and any necessary laser vision surgical or ocular disease care surgery co-management. And our office dispenses eyeglasses and contact lenses to help your partner see clearly.
